Have we mentioned how awesome you are?  Scouting is truly a family affair, and the Den Leaders are the glue that keeps us all together.  Here is a quick run-down of what the first Den Meeting usually will look like for our brand new leaders.

Scouting America Roundtables are monthly district-level meetings that provide unit leaders with supplemental training, program ideas, and networking opportunities. All leaders are welcome to attend the monthly Roundtable meetings.
To find out when Roundtables are being offered, either reach out to the Committee Chair or visit the Calendar page of the Blue Grass Council website.

Scouting America's BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) training is a mandatory two-part course required for at least one adult on any Cub Scout pack overnighter, consisting of an online prerequisite and an overnight hands-on camp experience.
During the course, participants will learn:

Camping Policies: Scouting America safety rules and guidelines specific to Cub Scout level camping. 

Campsite Planning: Site selection, gear lists, and outdoor cooking basics. 

Program Tools: Campfires, hiking, nature games, and leading engaging outdoor activities.

Wood Badge is Scouting America's premier advanced leadership training course for adult volunteers and professionals. It covers team development, servant leadership, and project planning. Reach out to the Committee Chair with any questions about this amazing program. 

Core Skills: Teaches listening, managing conflict, leading change, project planning, and servant leadership. 

Format: Combines a practical indoor/outdoor experiential learning phase with a customized application period. 

Recognition: Graduates earn a certificate, a special tan neckerchief with a tartan patch, and two wooden beads on a leather thong.
